Up Front AM: Have you made up your mind?

First take on the day’s political news from the Up Front team.

McKenna leads:  In the latest KING 5 poll released this morning, Rob McKenna continues to leads the race for Governor.  SurveyUSA also found 11 percent are undecided in the governor’s race.  And here’s what’s interesting:  Even among voters who told SurveyUSA they would vote for either McKenna or Inslee, 65% say they’ve made up their minds while 31% say they could still change their minds.  Note, the poll found no advantage to McKenna or Inslee on “soft support.”  Bottom line—With ten months before the election, there are still quite a few voters up for grabs.

Battling the elements:  With a snow storm moving in, it’s the annual “March for Life” rally at the state capitol today at noon.

Death penalty revisited:  State representative Reuven Carlyle has introduced a bill to repeal the death penalty.  He hopes to start the discussion, but concedes in his blog that it’s unlikely to even get a hearing.

Crossing 520 for free:  Your chance this morning, as WSDOT is experiencing an electrical problem that prevents tolling.  The state says it is working to fix the problem.
