Up Front AM: Changes at Costco; Gay marriage push; Discovery Pass disappointment

First take on the day’s political news
from the Up Front team.

Apply with us:  CEO Jim Sinegal talks with Up Front about what liquor sales will mean to Costco, and his offer to give job interviews to state liquor store employees who will lose their jobs as a result of Initiative 1183.  Sinegal says Costco can’t guarantee jobs for everyone, but wants to do something “meaningful” for those state employees.

Gay marriage push: Washington United for Marriage, a new political organization, announces its campaign this morning for legalized gay marriage in Washington state. The organization says it will pressure the legislature to make the state the 7th to legalize marriage for same-sex couples.

Discovery Pass disappoints:  Jordan Schrader with an update on the new Discovery Pass, falling short of expectations.  Without much enforcement, it appears not as many people as expected are buying an annual pass to go into a state park.
